Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS' (AMFEMS) Office of Public Information is led by Salvador Melendez. Sal is a member of the National Information Officers Association (NIOA) and holds numerous certifications for his position.


As the department’s public information officer, Sal is the primary media spokesperson, responsible for keeping the public informed, managing emergency and non-emergency communications during department-related activities, maintaining and growing a professional relationship with the news media and the community, and showcasing all the great services and initiatives provided by Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS.

Open Records RESPONSIBILITIES


The AMFEMS Fire Chief is the custodian of record for the Anchorage Middletown Fire Department. The Executive Deputy Fire Chief is responsible for the review of all records being released. The Executive Administrative Assistant is responsible for the tracking, organizing and assignment of open records requests.
